About Our Mini Dachshund Puppies
Our puppies begin showing more of their individual personalities as they mature. We spend time handling and observing each litter so we can help families understand which puppies appear more outgoing, relaxed, playful, or independent.
Genetics, early socialization, training, and the puppy's future environment all contribute to adult temperament.

Every Puppy Goes Home Microchipped
I microchip all of our puppies. Not only does this save you a bunch of money, but it helps me sleep knowing if the little puppy sneaks out of your fence theres a good chance the police will return them. Statistically speaking, people rarely register their dogs even if they are chipped so I really hope you will register. A free registry we recommend is 24hr Pet Watch (1-866-597-2424) They will try to upsell you into a subscription, but its not needed for simple dog recovery, I just do the basic free package myself.

Organized Puppy Medical Records
I send home a very organized medical record. I record the dates of my first 5-way vaccination and when I gave your puppy their dewormer. I also wrote down for you the future due dates for the puppies booster shots and supplied you with a years worth of dewormer. I have you completely covered and organized so don't stress :D

Preventative Puppy Health Care
Our puppies receive a thorough preventative parasite-control program before going home. This includes age-appropriate deworming using multiple medications to provide broader protection against common intestinal parasites.
All treatments and dates are recorded on the puppy's medical record so your veterinarian knows exactly what has already been completed.

Mini Dachshunds are generally small dogs, but adult size can vary based on genetics, parents, and individual growth. We provide our best estimate of expected adult size for each puppy when possible. Ours will land between 8lbs and 14lbs
What is the difference between a Mini Dachshund and a standard Dachshund?
The main difference is adult size. Mini Dachshunds are smaller than standard Dachshunds, although puppies can vary and some may mature larger or smaller than expected.
Are Dachshunds good with children?
Many Dachshunds do very well with children when they are properly socialized and handled respectfully. Because of their long backs and small size, children should be taught how to pick them up and play with them safely.
What is the temperament of a Mini Dachshund?
Mini Dachshunds are often curious, affectionate, playful, confident, and sometimes independent. Temperament is influenced by genetics, early socialization, training, and the puppy's home environment.
Are Dachshunds difficult to potty train?
Some Dachshunds can take longer to house train than other breeds. A consistent schedule, frequent outdoor trips, supervision, and positive reinforcement are important.
Do Mini Dachshunds shed?
Yes, although the amount depends on coat type. Smooth-coated Dachshunds usually require minimal grooming, while long-haired and wire-haired Dachshunds generally need more coat maintenance.
How long do Mini Dachshunds live?
Mini Dachshunds often have a long lifespan, commonly around 12 to 16 years. Genetics, weight management, nutrition, exercise, and veterinary care all play a role in long-term health.
Are Dachshunds prone to back problems?
Dachshunds have a long body shape that can increase their risk of spinal and back issues such as intervertebral disc disease. Keeping them at a healthy weight and limiting repeated jumping from furniture can help reduce unnecessary strain.
Do you require a deposit?
We generally do not require a deposit. Contact us for the current reservation process for the puppy you are interested in.
Can I meet my puppy in Kearney?
For the health and safety of our puppies, we no longer allow public visits to our home or kennel. Young puppies are especially vulnerable to contagious illnesses such as parvovirus, which can be carried in on shoes, clothing, and vehicles without anyone realizing it.
We provide current photos, videos, detailed puppy information, and are happy to answer questions before you choose a puppy. Pickup and scheduled meeting arrangements are coordinated once a puppy has been selected.
